This 5-hour course exceeds Colorado state requirements to obtain your concealed carry permit. The course consists of approximately 3.5 hours of lecture and 1.5 hours of shooting. It covers everything you need to know, including:

  • Basic handgun safety, including home firearms safety
  • Fundamentals of handgun shooting
  • Expert instruction in grip, stance, trigger pull, sight alignment/picture and weapon handling
  • Colorado Concealed Carry and Colorado Use of Force laws
  • How to apply for a permit
  • Concealed carry issues and situational concerns
  • Concealment methods
  • Drawing from concealed carry

Classes taught at Buffalo Creek Gun Club:
     Members - $125      
     Non-Members - $145 (includes day use range fee) 
Classes at Other Ranges: $125

If you have a group of 4 or more and don't see a class date good for you, we'll schedule a class just for your group.

We recommend students bring:

  • Hearing protection (electronic preferred) (We have loaners if you need)
  • Shooting glasses (ANSI Z87 safety rating) (We have loaners if you need)
  • Strong-side Hip Holster that safely holds your handgun and covers the trigger guard
    • (Purse or fanny pack with built-in holster is okay too)
  • At least 100 rounds of ammunition
  • Water/non-alcoholic beverages
  • Lunch/snacks if desired
  • Sunscreen

We have limited handguns for rent (must reserve in advance). Rental price is $10 and can try up to 3 different handguns for the $10. With rental guns, must use factory ammo or purchase ammo from us.
